Very cool JA...but even a tiny bit is too much monkey business, except for Chuck Berry haha He's forever cool and good for any day. ..under three minutes that song by two seconds and $1.00 Gas he says....uh huh, miss that
I have a "Tribute to Chuck Berry" compilation disc which I played last night as part of my celebration of Chuck's 90th birthday. It consists of 23 rocking covers of Chuck Berry songs, and among the tracks is a live recording of the Yardbirds performing their cover version of "Too Much Monkey Business". This line-up of the Yardbirds includes Eric Clapton as lead guitarist (he launched his career in this band).
Just read this very morning that the venerable Mr Berry was about to release a new long-playing disc as a follow up (yes, that's right) to his 1979 long-playing disc! 1979! What a hero he is. (I've been humming 'Too much monkey business' ever since I read this question )
Chuck Berry is one of the most seminal musicians of all time. Without Chuck Berry, there would have been no Rolling Stones, no Yardbirds, no Led Zeppelin and no Status Quo. What would life be like without those? Lol:)
I saw that last night about Chuck's impending and long-awaited new album. I wonder if he can still come up with raving rock classics of the calibre of "Johnny B. Goode" or "Sweet Little Sixteen" or "Memphis Tennessee"? Now that would be something to behold! Lol:)
