Did you hear that Hank Aaron died today?

Rest in peace, Henry. Did you get to see his record-breaking homer in 1974?

Yes, about an hour ago, I heard of his passing. I did not see his 1974 feats, I was quite young, but I‘ve never been a baseball fan. As a landmark in history, though, I was aware of its significance.

    Rest in peace, “Hammerin‘” Hank!

They were airing all of the Braves' games until he broke the record. I can tell you the exact spot I was sitting when I saw it at home. He and the third base coach did a high five, thus inventing it.

I heard about it early this morning.  A lot of sports figures are dying now.  His record was broken in 2007 by Barry Bonds, but I'm pretty sure Bonds was embroiled in a doping scandal so it shouldn't count. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at January 22, 2021 7:27 PM MST

And A-Rod. A blemish on the Yankee uniform.
