"TEAR DOWN THIS WALL MR. KRUSCHEV." Famous words uttered by President Reagan decades ago. About walls. Love 'em or hate 'em?

The FOOTOO ego hate wall is only up a partial little bit. Here a bit there a bit everywhere a bit bit bit.

Should that wall be torn down too since it represents a threat that never existed which if it had no wall would have done anything to stop it?

How many millions of dollars were diverted from the military to sate the FOOTOO ego hate? Anyone?.

Actually, President Reagan said, "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall". Kruschev died on Sep 11, 1971.  Whether or not a wall should be taken down depends on what it was built for, to begin with. What is the main reason for our border wall?

The wall acts like a traffic conductor, directing "illegal" border crossers to the places that our agents want to stop and detain them. In short, we can channel the traffic to our advantage. Thus, our agents can more safely engage with those who are "illegally" entering America.

Back to Reagon and the tear down the wall speech. The Berlin wall was built to stop East Germans from traveling or escaping to West Germany. After the second world war, Germany had been partitioned into two: the USSR allied with East Germany, and the US was allied with West Germany.

In East Germany, the communist party had taken power and had started a brutal campaign of repression and re-education. That's the reason why President Reagan told Gorbachev to tear down the wall. It split a country and it split families within the country. Our border wall was built to keep out illegals and to help keep our country safe. Big difference.
