I don't know if this info would blow a scientist's mind which I don't have because I'm not a scientist but it sure blows mine. WHAT?

3000 feet below an ANTARCTIC ice sheet they found a form of LIFE!

It was allegedly quite by accident. I'd say serendipity was at work here.

I don't find that unusual. Life has been found in many unusual places.

A mile is 5,280 feet. 3000 feet is over half a mile down. NO SUNLIGHT gets down there at all. They are born live and die in the dark. In frigid waters. What KIND of lifeform fights so hard to live in such an environment? It sure amazes me. Probably an advantage of being ignorant. You get amazed by more things. Thank you for your reply E! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 15, 2021 5:20 PM MST

Bacteria and perhaps tardigrades. Maybe some cats...they can live anywhere.

(One of those cats is brave enough to even live with me.)

Never heard of Tardigrade E so I just looked it up. Thank you for introducing me to it and also for your reply! Cats are survivors. Often people who no longer want them move and leave them behind or go elsewhere and drop them off and move on and never look back. Independence is what does it. Very unneedy. So they scrounge around for food however they can. Happy Tuesday to thee and thine! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 17, 2021 2:09 AM MST

Tardigrades are smaller than a pinhead.

But you cannot ascertain size from a photograph. It can be blown up a bazillion times or minimized to pinhead size. How do you KNOW when you look at a photo if something hasn't been tweaked to change the appearance. But I digress. Thank you for your reply E and Happy Wednesday to thee and thine! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 17, 2021 8:18 AM MST

Oh my gawd WHERE ON EARTH did you find this E? I was down in the dumps and then when I saw this I started giggling. Now it is physically impossible to giggle and feel down. At least for me. I think they call it being photoshopped or something? Audio can also be edited though I think that may be easier to detect as a fraud. I'm not sure. Always before in the long ago you COULD believe your eyes and your ears but not true now. It's a land of landmines. Be careful where you step..you could get blown up figuratively. Believing fake and rejecting truth is a way of life for at least 74 million Americans. AARRGGHH! Now if Einstein had that body would he have competed for Mr. America? Tantalizing thought. Thank you for your reply and this keeper! But it's now engraved on my mind's eye which I will carry with me always! And giggle! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 18, 2021 7:21 AM MST

It was? The entire bod or just the head? I don't remember. Sigh. Thank you for your reply E! :) Mine was a mom unicorn and her baby. Here it's just whatever came with the membership. The unicorns will always belong to the bag. No disrespect intended to this site but well the bag can't be replicated. :)
