I believe that everyone has something they're good at. With over 7 billion people in the world, these "strengths" are bound to overlap. (For example, there's more than just 1 person who is good at painting. Yet, at the same time every person is unique - in brain, body and "soul". Each person "sees" the world and experiences life in their own unique way. Some see thru the eyes of poverty. Some thru the eyes of wealth. Some see thru the eyes of age, some thru eyes of youth. Some thru the eyes of pain and suffering. Some see thru the eyes of love. Some thru the eyes of education, some thru the eyes of ignorance. Some cannot see at all (blind). And while more than one person sees similar things, each person reacts to it in their own unique way. Who was the better painter - Rembrandt, Van Gogh or Da vinci? They each had artistic ability, yet each one painted in their own unique way. Ah, but wait....it gets more complicated... Remember the quote "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? The one who sees others "ability" ses it from their eyes. What if the one seeing doesn't like art?
Everyone has something they're good at (a strength). It doesn't have to be something grand, like playing the piano. It may be something "minor" such as being a good listener. Each person has the ability to either hone their ability or ignore it. Yet whatever a person's ability is, only they can do it to the degree of themselves. They ARE better than anyone else at it... but that's only because it is unique only to them.
Chess and scrabble. Reading. Smoking weed and looking at porn. Listening to music. Watching Busting over and over til' I manage to finish it. I think you men are dispicable! Oh and you're a Cub Scout. Robert Blake fighting in the bar with a cigarette in his mouth all through it. Elliot popping in another piece of gum. Hey how ya doin'..blamblamblamblam. I was pretty sure you'd see this issue as I do. I think we all have gifts to share. Will we be able to do so? You know "full many a flower is born to blush unseen and waste its sweetness on the desert air." I don't know if that is verbatim but you get the drift. I wonder how many "genius" type never had a chance to blossom bloom share what they had to give? Opportunity is important and some never get a chance at one. Our loss. True. Many never get to bloom. Perhaps they were mired in sandy soil (bad circumstances), or were never fertilized (encouraged), or their own minds wouldn't allow it (depression, self-doubt). I wonder how many more do bloom, yet their sweetness is only experienced by a few. I mean there many have been billions of artists who created awesome works of art over the years. Yet, what if only a few (maybe even just one) ever saw them (for whatever reason)? Was their sweetness wasted? What if all Mozart's creations were only heard by his best friend? Was his sweetness wasted? The world wouldn't have known his ability even existed, but that one person would have. And if no one know something exists, how can they miss not having it?
I would think the friends and families of such folks would have experienced it but that is not the same thing as having it available to the world. Having the ability to share your talent with others is the ideal of course. But how often is life ideal? I just think that if everyone always had opportunity to bloom and blossom our world would be much better off. Maybe everything is planned in advance in the great somewhere else before we are born and we can never break out of it? Thank you for your thoughtful analysis in response to my question. Of course if you have money you have power to command attention. You don't need talent. :(
