    It happens to many people.

    Wlllful killing, and suicides, are thankfully still fairly rare causes of death by population, but fatal accidents and illnesses are common.

    I don't know the proportions, but very many people die in hospital or hospice, so you could count those in your question.

    Due to the pandemic hundreds of thousands died alone except for the nurse holding their hand. Loved ones never got to say "goodbye". A sadness and additional tragedy to be sure. Thank you for your reply Durdle and Happy Tuesday to thee and thine! :)
