How you see others doesn't define them. It defines you. Do you give folks the benefit of the doubt or jump to conclusions about them? Why?

If you are in doubt about what someone means do you ask him/her or assume you know and judge because of it?  How do you prefer to be treated?  Would you like people to ask you first  if they are unsure about what you meant so you have the chance to clear up any misconceptions they had before they make their assessments or is jumping to conclusions and assuming untrue things about you OK with you? Why?
