A Mugger friend came up with a BRILLIANT idea vis a vis self-defense. He suggested learning martial arts. Rely on that not guns?

What do you think about that? You would know how to render the attacker harmless but not kill him.

I know it wouldn't work in every situation but maybe it would work in enough situations to make it worthwhile trying?

Anyone at any age who is healthy and has no physical limitations could learn how. I know it wouldn't be a perfect solution but might it make things a little bit better?

      I studied martial arts for a few years and most are not all that they're cracked up to be when you're in the streets. Here is a YouTube video where a former Navy Seal talks about the best defense against attackers.

    Frankly, martial arts will do you little good if someone has a gun.  you've heard the expression, "Never bring a knife to a gun fight."
