The energy is stored in batteries. Not practical. The energy density of a solar panel is quite low, and too many would be needed for any practical use.
Did you read about that solar plane flight around the world? It occurred a few years ago. It is possible "not practical" as you said. Maybe one day something will be invented to change that? Thank you for your reply E! :)
