Is there a race going on between/among billionaires for OUTER SPACE dominance? Will one of them build settlements and people them first?

Would you go?

That's always a possibility, but I suspect it will be a long time before we have the ability to live on other planets.

Just because water was detected doesn't make it habitable. Go ahead and try and I'm sure will die if ever another planet we go. The duration travel timewise in unsurvivable.  I'm learning!
The trip takes around seven months; a bit longer than astronauts currently stay on the International Space Station. The precise duration of each journey depends on when it is taken. Because both Mars and Earth's orbits are not perfectly circular, the time it takes to travel between them varies from six to eight months.

I know.  We would have to create our own atmosphere which would be nearly impossible outside a space station.

Thank you for your reply L. I'll leave it to others who are very brave to cross that frontier! :) This post was edited by RosieG at June 11, 2021 9:56 AM MDT
