Oprah Winfrey talked about being your AUTHENTIC self. Does a country have an authentic self/identity? If so what is your country's?

Knowing/being one's authenic self is NOT NECESSARILY a good thing, whether for individuals or nation-states...;-D...

Authentic Australia is a mixed bag.
We include the Original peoples, the descendants of every wave of invaders and immigrants, and the newcomers still adjusting and discovering how to integrate.
We include all their cultures, thoughts, behaviours and ways of life.
We include the land itself, the climate, the plants and the animals, both native and foreign.

The inauthentic is what gets officially promoted as nationalism. It is a bizarre distortion and parody of the reality.
