This is one of those "IT'S COMPLICATED" things about which we hear so much. What would YOU DO if it were YOU?

You are the president. You can appoint anyone you wish to fill staff positions and whatever other positions are unilaterally your decision without anyone's permission.

Do you automatically NOT HIRE ANY RELATIVES to avoid the appearance of neopotism?


WHAT IF
a relative happens to really be best for the job? Best education best experience best record? Do you not hire a person whom you believe would do the BEST job just because he/she is a relative?

    I would not hire a relative under any circumstances so as to avoid the appearance of nepotism.  There are enough other persons who could fill that position as well as my relative.
