Does everything happen for a REASON? Are there no accidents? If so doesn't that mean our lives are predetermined? If so what does THAT mean?

I believe everything happens for a reason ... but not on the whims of some deity.
If it isn't a result of our personal choice, it's the result of someone else making a choice.
Acts of nature are results of the "reasons" of natural laws.

WHAT IF everything we believe "to be true" isn't Walt? What would that mean then? Cause and effect is inevitable. You can't get effect without cause correct?  We could be those little balls inside those penny arcade machines that go caroming around hither and yon at the "direction/instigation/activation" of others. We don't really KNOW why or where or when. We just opine surmise the best way we can. Even with our "genius" designations what if our intellect is the lowest rung on the ladder of intelligence? We have decided what genius is and found ways of "measuring" it. How do we know that a 200+ IQ is the highest intelligence? Just because we can't test any higher doesn't mean anything does it? I dunno. Sometimes I get all caught up in "what if none of this is real"? WHAT IF? Thank you for your reply Walt and Happy Thursday. I mean for instance what is the point of Don Guantanamo and his insurrectionists? Just another weak sleazy nutjob crackpot nitwit two-bit thug with a gang of thugs who want to bully through life at the expense of others. Seriously what kind of "creator" would create that abomination and foist it on the rest of us?  See my problem? :( This post was edited by RosieG at June 24, 2021 3:36 AM MDT

What if it isn't? What can you do about it?

To question free will is the Epitome of who we are.  However, the reverse of that is also true.  Its like a Merry-Go-Round that's never ending.

What does it MEAN if we are merely pawns being moved around by forces outside ourselves? What do YOU think?

If we are "pawns" like you say, then we are the game pieces in a board game. Talk about one messed up board game.

FATE. KISMET. REINCARNATION. More than one possibility. Which appeals most to you? Happenstance? Thank you for your reply O.

It does. Unless, of course, it doesn't.
