Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» I heard that ALL LAWYERS HAVE TO TAKE CLASSES IN ETHICS! Is that true? You mean a Roy Cohn, Michael Cohen and Rudy the G were ethicsized?
That's true in New York City and State. A certain number of hours of continuing education is required and a portion of those hours must relate to ethics.
Look what it produced? Those 3 lawyers were New Yorkers...right? So what good did the educating do? What a crock. I'm sure the same thing is true everywhere. They take their oaths. The go to class. They do what benefits THEM. They see no problem with it. Sadly. Thank you for your reply! :)
I think the ACLU lawyers are honorable. They aren't in it for the money or the fame. There are in it to help protect the little guy that usually gets trampled on, crushed or ignored. Thank you for your reply L! :)

Yes, they are more altruistic. Our firm mandates a certain number of hours be dedicated to pro bono (free) work every month. We are also very conscious regarding social issues. We have food drives, clothing drives, etc. and our firm matches charitable contribution up to $1,000 per person.
((hugs)) I figgered there had to be some great hook to keep you there for so many years! THAT'S IT. They are socially conscious and give back. I really like that. No. I LOVE THAT! Thank you for sharing that info with us. There are good guys out there still. Getting rarer and rarer though! :(
