Some folks go out with slugs rather than stay home on a Saturday night. What's so special about SATURDAY that makes them be/do DESPERATE?

    Since they don't have to go to work the next day, they can really "indulge" and "sleep it off" on Sunday.  Some like friday nights, but sometimes they're to tired from the work day, so they use saturday night instead.

    Ah. I see. The oasis day. I never got it. I thought it was stupid of people to do that. But well different strokes for different folks. If stupid is what makes them happy who am I to criticize it? Thank you for your reply! :)
