Loretta Lynch, Attorney General, didn't want FBI Director Comey to release info on the new email flap. He ignored her. Is he in trouble?

Comey reports to the Director of National Intelligence but  is responsible to  the Attorney General for its operations. Can he be punished for insubordination? Did Comey try to make up for not charging Hillary with criminal activity due to the previous email investigation so he jumped the gun irresponsibly on this? He was castigated/excoriated/vilified by Republicans for not charging Hillary and "locking her up". Do they love him now? How much trouble has he caused and how much good has he done to/for anyone by releasing/leaking this information  and how much trouble is HE personally ni for doing what he did this time?

In trouble for what? Doing his job? If anyone should be in trouble it's the AG. She has a private meeting with the husband of Hillary before Comey was going to decide whether to indict or not. After that she recluse herself. Now she's pushing herself back in. Anything to get crooked Hillary elected.

A couple of months ago democrats were praising Comey, now listed to them. Behind the scene Obama is probably pulling all the strings.

    Hello Rosie:

Comey has a 10 year appointment... Lynch serves at the pleasure of the president.  After the election, Comey will STILL have his job..  Lynch???  Prolly not.

So Comey is pretty invincible then? Do you think he did the right thing excon? I was torn at first because I could see both sides of it. But then I watched/heard former FBI folks(BOTH Republicans and Democrats) say that what he did was unprecedented and against protocol. It seems that 30 days before an election they are supposed to stifle ANYTHING that might influence an election's outcome. In addition to that the FBI is never supposed to leak information in advance about anything involving  what they are doing. They are supposed to quietly investigate whatever and only say something to the public when the investigation is concluded and they have proof one way or the other of wrongdoing or exoneration. Comey stands alone in his actions/words. I think you should follow the rules/precedent and maintain the integrity of the process which he clearly did not do. Whatcha think? Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday! :)

  • Many of us out here didn't care for the unsavory appearance of the Attorney General meeting on the tarmac with Slick Willie. She can say anything she wants about the FBI director but it will always have the distinct ring of the pot calling the kettle black. Please don't omit the glaring double standards among these people when making assessments of the old blame game.

Or maybe the e-mails will contain nothing that has anything to do with anyone except Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin.

Comey didn't say the FBI found anything incriminating. He merely told Congress its investigation COULD relate to previous investigations of HRC.

But, of course, in our hyper-partisan HILLARY CLINTON IS THE DEVIL INCARNATE WHO PITCHES BABIES INTO OPEN VOLCANOES political atmosphere, people feel perfectly entitled to brethlessly speculate the FBI investigation will confirm what they WANT to believe....;-D...
