Discussion»Questions»Finance» How many times can you declare bankruptcy before you are known as a deadbeat? Why would anyone take a chance on deadbeats?
It might be uncharitable to say once, because some people really are very unlucky and fail through no fault of their own - like farmers due to prolongued draught. But I read once somewhere that when a person has been bankrupt once they are three times more likely to do it again. Twice and they are ten times more likely. For some people it's just a de facto form of theft.
