They seem to lust after things that make them feel good about themselves. They don't naturally feel that way .. so they're always looking for outside stimuli to do it for them. A losing battle IMO.
So they lack self-confidence and have zero self-worth? I'm going to go with that B and give you blind attribution. Great point you raise which I appreciate. That makes TOTAL sense! Of course it does. When don't you? Thank you for your reply and here it comes! :)

One can lust after anything - a bigger house, a promotion, etc. In fact, we're all are guilty of lusting after something at some point in our lives (and I'm not talking about teenage lust).
Lust (verb) - to feel a strong desire for something. Evil or good.
