Among the nicest words one can say are these..."what can I do to help"? Do you say them often? Do you like hearing them said?
When someone is visibly upset don't say CALM DOWN. Say "is there anything I can do to help"? Those words alone are more apt to calm people down because it means you CARE enough to offer assistance. Right?
