Same-sex love/marriage is an ABOMINATION to some. WHAT IF THE BIBLE told us that ALL LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL? It is HATE that is the PERVERSION?

It is HATE that is the only ABOMINATION? It is those who HATE who are THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE?

WHAT IF IT WERE A COMMANDMENT?

THOU SHALT LOVE WHOMEVER THOU PLEASETH. LOVE IS GOOD. HATE IS EVIL.

THOU SHALT NOT HATE THOU SHALT NOT HATE THOU SHALT NOT HATE THY FELLOW HUMAN BEING

ALL LOVE IS GOOD. GOD IS LOVE.

Same sex marriage should be an abomination to EVERYONE!  It perverts that which God made.  God is not against love.  However, homosexulaity is NOT love!  It's a perversion of the natural way God intended.  It doesn't matter what people think or say.  If God says something is wrong, then it is wrong.  Period.  To say otherwise is to say we're greater than our Creator.

IF the purpose of sexual desire is to make babies same-sex couples can't but they can adopt children and provide them with loving homes.

Does GOD say EVIL is okay? Why does HE allow it then if it isn't okay?

But the purpose of sex ISN'T just for reproduction.  There’s more to “sex” than just intercourse.  God made sex to be an intimate, enjoyable and vital act between a husband and his wife.  Not a onetime thing (wham, bam, got a kid now that's it), but a loving act that brings the two closer together (literally).  It helps to hold a marriage together.

God never says evil is "ok".

You know the answer to that question - God allows evil because He gave us free will.  We choose to commit evil acts.  Everyone’s heard that rote answer a billion times.  So let me go at that question at a different angle…

What if God did compensate for people’s evil actions through supernatural intervention 100% of the time?  ZAP!  He stops a drunk driver from causing an automobile accident.  ZAP!  He stops a lazy construction worker from doing a substandard job on a house that would later cause grief to the homeowners.  ZAP!  He stops a father who is addicted to drugs or alcohol from doing any harm to his wife, children, or extended family.  ZAP!  He stops gunmen from robbing convenience stores.  ZAP! He stops high school bullies from tormenting the brainy kids.  ZAP!  He stops thieves from shoplifting, or stops a gunman from shooting up a school.

Is that what you want?  I mean, no more evil, right?  Ok, but what if God’s intervention infringed on something we wanted to do.  Sure, we want God to prevent horribly evil actions, but are we willing to let “lesser-evil” actions slide—not realizing that those “lesser-evil” actions are what usually lead to the “greater-evil” actions.  Should God only stop actual sexual affairs, or should He also block our access to pornography, or end any inappropriate, but not-yet-sexual, relationships?  Should God stop “true” thieves, or should He also stop us from cheating on our taxes?  (theft is theft)  Should God only stop murder, or should He also stop the “lesser-evil” actions done to people that lead them to commit murder.  Should God only stop acts of terrorism, or should He also stop the indoctrination that transformed a person into a terrorist?

Ok, so what if God were just to judge and remove all those who choose to commit evil acts?  ZAP! and they’re gone!  That’d get rid of evil, right?  Well, the only problem with that is that there’d be no one left; God would have to remove everyone because we ALL sin and commit evil acts.  Sure, some people are more evil than others, but where would God draw the line?  I mean, ultimately, ALL evil causes harm to others.  We live in a real world where our good and evil actions have direct consequences and indirect consequences upon us and those around us.  We can choose our actions but not their consequences.  Our decisions to sin (all sin is evil in God’s sight) have an impact on us, those around us, as well as those who will come after us.  We may not think so, but the butterfly effect holds true.

God does prevent and restrain some acts of evil.  This world would be MUCH WORSE were God not restraining evil.  At the same time, God has given us the ability to choose good and evil, and when we choose evil, He allows us, and those around us, to suffer the consequences of our evil.

Funny you should mention that.  Just today I was thinking about a story line for a movie.  All the "bad" people were removed from the earth suddenly.  What would the world be like then? Don't think it would make a movie that people would want to watch however.

Your arguments are valid Shuhak. Nevertheless I would like to try out a world without evil. A paradise if you will on earth. A place where we may have disagreements but we deal with them with respect civlity and calm. That kind of world has been tried out at times. People group together to live in unity and something happens and it doesn't last. Human nature gets in the way. But I would like a chance to experience a world sans EVIL for awhile. Find out what if any the pitfalls of such a life might be. I'm curious about it because it is so enticing a prospect. As I said your arguments are valid but not my cuppa tea. Not enough to stop me from wanting to experience it. Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply. I appreciate it. I'm not sold but I'm not a typical buyer. Remember GOD gave me this brain. I can't take credit or debit for it. I have to use what HE gave me as best I can. I think I do! :)

Human pride and selfishness won't ever allow it to happen here.  That's why Jesus came.  So that through Him we can live in a place completely devoid of evil forever.

I think JESUS DIED IN VAIN. There. I said it. We are evil and getting more so. So does GOD send JESUS back to be crucified again to cleanse us of our sins? It didn't work first time. Why should it work this time were it to happen? Homo saps just are not worth it in my opinion. It's all wasted on them...not ALL of them to be sure. But enough to spoil for everyone. Just my opinion. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 12, 2021 11:28 AM MDT

Would it surprise you to know that God feels the same way about people that you do?  Here’s how He describes them…

“No one is righteous— not even one!  No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God.  All have turned away; all have become useless!  No one does good, not a single one!  Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave!  Their tongues are filled with lies!  Snake venom drips from their lips.  Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.  They rush to commit murder.  Destruction and misery always follow them.  They don’t know where to find peace.  They have no fear of God at all!”  “Their lives are full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.  They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful.  They invent new ways of doing evil, and they disobey their parents.  They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy.”

Is that about an accurate portrait of people?  Total scum, huh?  This is what God says about EVERY person on earth - you, me, politicians, doctors, clerks, missionaries, firemen, Olympians… everybody!  Billions and billions of people all complete scumbags.  While Jesus died for everyone (past, present and future), very few care.  Yet in the midst of all the chaos and stupidity in this world, there are a few people who do care.  They’re nowhere near perfect, but they still try to follow Jesus.  It’s these few who make Jesus’ death not in vain.

DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU JUST DID M'DEAR? You just gave me a WONDERFUL gift of knowledge about something I got right and just didn't have a clue. I did not know that except now I do all thanks to you. Yes it does surprise me but I am delightedly surprised. Well I of course I can take no credit for it. Who gave me this brain anyway? See? So now I know what I say based on what I think is justified. If it weren't I'd say it anyway. WHOA. THIS IS VERY BIG SHUHAK. VERY BIG. I shall keep rereading it. :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 13, 2021 7:31 PM MDT

Thank you for your reply Shuhak. I am not the Biblical Scholar that you are m'dear. I talk to GOD daily. I don't go through church or through books to get to HIM. I have no problem with those who do though it is rather limiting for me so I just do away with obstacles impediments. This post was edited by RosieG at August 14, 2021 11:52 AM MDT

Excuse me, but how do you know how God feels, or even if such a being is even capable of humanlike thought? Big assumption and presumption on your part.

That, of course, is your opinion. But what harm does homosexuality cause you? And when you talk about "our Creator," you are making a big assumption that goes against the more logical belief that humans evolved, created civilizations and religions, in which the mythical narrative of a superhuman being was invented to explain how it all came to be.

Homosexuality hurts everyone!  Health (diseases), broken lives, money.
God's word is the bible.  In it He explicitly says homosexuality is an abomination and not to do it.  The creator is greater than that which He created.   Therefore God is far superior to any "human logic".

Fortunately, social policy and laws in the US and many other countries are not based on the Bible.
