"NEW CDC STUDY FINDS VIRUS RISKIER THAN SHOT. Illness, hospitalization and death called far more likely from disease." NO KIDDING?

They had to do a STUDY to figure that out?

The issue into which the CDC investigated, was on which of the following gives better immunity:
Surviving the Coronavirus, or having had a vaccination against it.

"New CDC Study: Vaccination Offers Higher Protection than Previous COVID-19 Infection":

    "[...] a study [

] of COVID-19 infections in Kentucky among people who were previously infected with SAR-CoV-2 shows that unvaccinated individuals are more than twice as likely to be reinfected with COVID-19 than those who were fully vaccinated after initially contracting the virus. These data further indicate that COVID-19 vaccines offer better protection than natural immunity alone and that vaccines, even after prior infection, help prevent reinfections. [...]"

The interesting thing is that the reason for this is not explained. The results constitute a deviation from previous conclusions about illness and vaccination, since it had been accepted that having an illness gave better immunity than having a vaccination against it.

    I found this:
    - - - - Start of extract: - - - -

"[...] natural infection [of the Coronavirus] only exposes the body to the virus in the respiratory tract (unless the illness is very severe), while the vaccine is delivered to muscle, where the immune system may have an even better chance of seeing it and responding vigorously."

    [Note:
I assume this means that where the immune system experiences an illness in the respiratory tract, its knowledge of the pathogen is more limited than if it encounters the pathogen in other internal places.]
