Under Civil Reserve Air Fleet powers going back to the Berlin Airlift after World War II, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin activated four planes from United ... three each from American, Atlas Air, Delta and Omni Air ... and two from Hawaiian Airlines."
My guess is that the government will pay for these flights, but it should be limited to actual expenses.
It could all have been avoided...or at least the degree of turmoil...had it been PLANNED. This after-the-fact is better than nothing but executing it well would have been preferable. Thank you for your reply L! :)
WHAT? A "clusterf**k"? That's a new one on me but I surely do adore it bigly! Yes. Definitely fits the bill! All of this should have been going on WEEKS/MONTHS ago. DOWNSIZING. It's embarrassing that is all being down loud and in front of the world. Underscores the depths to which stupid dumb can go vis a vis costing lives. Thank you for your reply L! :)
