"U.S. AIRLIFT STILL SHORT UP TO 1,500 AMERICANS." So? The deadline to get out of didge is August 31. What's the problem?

OF COURSE AMERICANS get first priority. So it will be the Afghan friend and families who are still struggling to get to Kabul. We never leave "one of our own" behind right? Well aren't the Afghans who worked with us side by side for 20 years "our own"? What does it take to achieve that status? Anyone?
