'Let's skip this joint' ... 'that place is a dive'. Do you like using slangy terms sometimes?

What are some slangy phrases that you are ok with and would use yourself?

The ones I still use are:
He ain't got the sense God gave a goose.
    Let's book.
    Peace out.
This place is deader than a door nail.
He don't know whether to wind his butt or scratch his watch.
Yes, I'm Southern, and these are just a sampling of the slang a lot of us still use around these parts.

Really? I've had some of my northern friends (New York and Rhode Island) tease me when I've said some of these in front of them. I'm not saying I don't believe you, just stating the reactions of some of my friends.

I have heard them here in New York. But I don't know about Rhode Island. It's one of those states that you'll miss if you blink while traveling through it, just like Delaware.

LOL. I did have a fun weekend in Providence many years ago when I visited Brown University as a high school senior, but I didn’t end up going there.

I think mine are more expressions and cultural references from days of yore than slang terms.

    You dig?

I say "fixin' to" or "fittin' to" do something.

I am sure I say other things but that is all I can think of at the moment.
