You were saying you don't traffic in hypotheticals. But if you have insurance, you're trafficing in hypotheticals.
According to a couple of people I know, the only reason they attend church is "What if god IS real?" And, of course, that prompts me to ask them - "Shouldn't you worship EVERY god, then? You know, to cover all your bases." (So I guess attending church and paying tithes is "purchasing" god insurance, to some people.)
I don't believe in a literal God in human form. I actually think people and civilizations came first, then invented religions and Gods to explain how it all came about. But I attend synagogue services, which replaced temple worship and animal sacrifices as described in the bible, more for social and community reasons. Many Jews view God as the forces and laws governing nature and the universe, which are much larger and greater than any humanlike entity can be.

Well first, you'd have to have a run-off to select which god would go up against Chuck Norris. If you want a monotheistic deity - I would say Aten, as it has been around the longest so should have the most knowledge.
