What is your favorite Mahler Symphony?

    Well Beethovan spawned Brahms and Brahms spawned Mahler.

  • I don't enjoy Mahler. Generally prefer the pre-Romantic epochs.
    Of the late-Romantics, I prefer Schubert and Schumann best, and then Liszt, Beethoven, Carulli, Mendelsonn, and Tchaikovsky

  • True, and normally I don't like the lightweights as much, but neither do I enjoy the super heavies.
    Somehow I seem to strike medium in everything - can't stand too much sweet, salt, sour, bitter or umami - like them balanced just so.
    I guess "there's no accounting for tastes."
