I do remember it, but I was stationed in North Chicago at the time. I was a whippersnapper.

You people didn’t even have internet back then and were probably reading by candle light. So I can’t imagine it was that big a deal, gawd.

Seriously though, when I was going through my “true crime documentary watching phase”, I do remember seeing it mentioned in a Son of Sam documentary so I know it was the same summer. That‘s all I know about that.

All Canadians did back in the olden days before the internet was fished and hunt deer from what I’ve read.  No electricity, no problem.

I don't but I'm sure many people do remember it.  How long did it last?

What caused it?   I've lived through 22 day power outages so 25 hours is not shocking to me.   If it was just that the power provider was not able to keep up with demand, that is outrageous to me.  That kind of thing is coming if the government doesn't get out of the way and let America do America.
