      To be fair, even though some lava flows move as slowly as you’re stating, they are also unpredictable to the point that either out-walking them or out-running them might not last for more than a few seconds. Additionally, the toxic fumes and gases from molten lava can overwhelm a person who gets too close, another factor that makes walking or running near it a dangerous deed.
