Discussion»Questions»Legal» What causes some to be so rigidly unadaptable while others are able to go with the flow? Is it mental/emotional or something else? What?
There are limits to what most people can endure. Limits cause this behavior. Even the severely brainwashed can only take so much as a rule. No one can be totally controlled like a robot.
Everyone at some point, will take a stand when there is no alternative. I should not say that without adding that some people will choose death. Choosing to lay down and die is not surrender. It is a place where you can no longer be touched.

For fixed mentalities: habit, fear or discomfort with the unfamiliar, and/or not wishing to lose a sense of identity.
Most of us are probably more fixed than we realise, even the flexible ones. I've known a few people who are so flexible they flip from one thing to the next their whole lives and can't stop flipping...
Flippers drive me bonkers m'dear. They do. One can never depend upon them for anything. I realize people can change their minds. But back and forth constantly about the same things? Yikes! Not my cuppa. Especially those who flip from polite/friendly to rude/nasty. Once I get sick and tired of them I just drop them. I don't have the temperament for it! Thank you do for your reply hartfire! :(
I agree, I have a beloved husband who often has trouble making his mind up about something. He's my best mate in everything - but that flipping can drive me bananas at times - a-aa-AAARGHRGH!
