Do you think NPR leans right on politics?

I argue with one of my friends about this. I think it does, especially here in Houston. What do people expect? This is an oil and gas international city. They also sponsor the news programs. He doesn't think so. He says they are fair and equal. Ha! How can I convince him this is happening? I just want to say, "Duh!" It is so obvious; it is pathetic!

NPR? As in National Panhandler Radio?

They lean to the right? HaHaHaHa. You're funny.

NPR is about as left-leaning as it gets. I've recently heard such "gems" on my local NPR affiliate as "It's OK to marry your brother/sister".

And by the way, NPR is a national radio network. NPR's product is the same in Houston as it is in Boston or San Francisco. If your local NPR non-commercial affiliate is running programming contrary to that liberal stripe it's not coming from NPR.

It is okay to marry your brother or sister is not proof of anyone's being NPR. It is proof you found some idiot who is part of that faction who uttered this nonsense.

Oh, trust me. This was an NPR feed that aired on one of the non-commercial educational FM's in my market. I even called the control room to verify, to make sure that they didn't have the wrong feed up for some reason (don't ask how or why I can do that). Thought that I was listening to West Virginia or Arizona public radio there for a second or two. This post was edited by Salt and Red Pepper at November 8, 2016 4:08 PM MST

Well, knowing you, you probably were.  Those red-neck stations are right up your alley.  I am sure you have excellent stereo in that double-wide of yours.

You would fit right into Arizona.  Like your leathered, dry and worn-out hand inserted into a cowhide glove, made by you and  murdered by you  from your very own butchered steer you raised yourself.

If you think that is bad, you should have heard me when I did drink. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 8, 2016 4:59 PM MST

I thought that you were the one that said that you were living in a trailer park?

Ah, my bad. It's probably because you talk like you should be living in a West Virginia trailer park . . .

  • NPR is actually pretty balanced IMHO.   Some of the on air personalities seem to lean slightly left.   A small number may lean slightly right but the coverage and respect to differing views seems fair.  They give interviews and coverage to a wide range of things.

According to S&P they are the devil incarnate and they think incest is okay too.  VOTE TRUMP all the way.

  • Actually I think I kinda remember someone being interviewed talking about incest about 2 months ago on NPR while waiting for Radio From  the Past to start.

Take it up with Salt.  He says that is how NPR think.  Because of something he heard on the radio regarding the NPR because one guy on there said that incest is okay.   I don't think that has anything  to do with many NPR supporters.  This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at November 8, 2016 5:45 PM MST
