Are you willing to rent out a room in your home to an illegal alien if the gov pays the rent?

What could go wrong?

I agree...but it is being proposed in one city.

One city's mayor is proposing this idea.

Perhaps our Vice President would be willing to rent out a few rooms in her big house.

Well, the way I see it:  If people would start having more children in the United States such drastic action would not be necessary.  Someone will have to support Social Security and pay taxes.  The younger generation is not having as many children as past generations, it is strictly a business move, in my opinion.

That’s easy for you to say, but how do you propose to accomplish it?

Not gonna happen.  We have just imported 1000's of tax payers over the southern border.
If they pay taxes it would be great. They are being treated better than people already living in America such as the homeless who are a drain on society.  Mexican people are hard workers.

Make life affordable.  Income has not kept pace with the cost of living.  When I was young you could buy a house, car and travel on minimum wage.  Now it is much different, prices have kept increasing but paychecks have not for the average family. If prices rise by 5% for the year and you get a 2% increase in pay you are going backward.  This has been the case for the past 35 years or more.  I don't know how single mothers make it in this time especially if they have low pay.

A few years back when minimum wage was due for an increase, business owners started increasing the price of their products 6 months or more before the wage change.  No one gained anything.  A price freeze for a while might help, I don't know what the answer is.  I do know having children is expensive, many are opting out of parenthood for this reason.

Do you know of a magic wand we can use to make this happen?

You are good at prescribing what should happen, but not so good at suggesting how to make it happen.

It’s not so simple, is it?

It wouldn’t change the use of birth control. People would just buy them illegally. It‘s just like laws against alcohol, marijuana, and guns. When demand for a thing is strong, black markets are inevitable.

Make abortions illegal.  Quit telling people that for the good of the planet we have to stop reproducing.  They told young people that in the 1980s up and now birth rates have decreased...so now the Dems claim we need to import people to make up for the lower births...

We have something like that here in NYC. It’s called Section 8, where the city pays rent to landlords who make apartments available to recipients of public assistance.
