Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» The prez-elect said he might have Giuliani and Gingrich in his cabinet. 2 old white men. Will Ivanka be in the cabinet? Any law against it?
No Ivanka cannot be in Pres. Trump's cabinet. It is illegal for to appoint family members.
5U.S.C. § 3110 (7) appoint, employ, promote, advance, or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement, in or to a civilian position any individual who is a relative (as defined in section 3110(a)(3) of this title) of such employee if such position is in the agency in which such employee is serving as a public official (as defined in section 3110(a)(2) of this title) or over which such employee exercises jurisdiction or control as such an official; https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2010-title5/html/USCODE-2010-title5.htm
Wasn't Bobby Kennedy Attorney General? Does the 2010 mean that was the year the law was enacted? Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Thursday to thee. I expect you are over the moon with joy. Right? :(
Yes, the law was passed after that by President Johnson. Who was worried about the Kennedy's. JFK appointing Bobby AG (grooming him for a POTUS run later) and he was sure if Bobby won, he would in turn do the same with Teddy.
One of the things which made me very uncomfortable with some hillary supporters was the very strong racism against white people that came out. I am a brown guy and I would never say some of this garbage that I have seen hillary supporters scream about white people. Why is race is so important and why so much condemnation of white people? One of the reasons that hillary lost I feel.

@ITPro -- I am somewhat flummoxed by your complaints about the anti-White racism of HRC supporters.
I will stipulate that what you claim is true (even though you present no evidence). However, given the copious evidence of racist/sexist/xenophobic supporters of Trump, your focus on the racism of HRC supporters seems a bit of a double-standard.
Or is anti-white racism somehow worse than other kinds?
I guess I cannot say "we" any longer since I cast my ballot for the other side but in my mind my answer is that we are supposed to be the ones who are not racist. Racism is not a tool to fight racism. Racism against white people is not acceptable more than other racism. The republicans know there are racists in their ranks and that does not deter them from supporting their candidate because it is something they have already come to accept. Democrats will be deterred when hillary supporters act as blatant racists especially when with such nonsense as to be racist against whites while supporting a white candidate. Did you see some of the anti-white comments posted with the spam that would appear on here each morning? What sense does it make to show racism against the largest race in the country when trying to promote your candidate? It is insane and it was not just here but everywhre.
@ITPro -- In other words, it's OK and acceptable for Republicans to be racist f***tards but the Democrats better not DARE have even a single racist person in their ranks?
I remain flummoxed by your apparent double standard.
My standard is about winning or being insane. The republicans do not say to vote for them because racist hillary will win otherwise. The democrats do, and then many go forth to say that trump is racist and in the same keystrokes or screams they express racism against white people. It is insanity.
Apparently, it's not "insane" for the Trump coalition to be full of racists/xenophobes/sexists/authoritarians/etc. because that's a "winning" coalition.
But if the Democrats point out that the Trump coalition is full of racists/xenophobes/sexists/authoritarians/etc., that's insane because all of those people will resent being called racists/xenophobes/sexists/authoritarians/etc. and....um, vote for Trump anyway.
Try again when you have a coherent explanation...;-D...
If you are not getting it is because you mind is blocking you because you cannot hear anything negative about democrats.
The trump campaign did not run on a position of not being racist or accuse the hillary supporters of racism. The trump campaign did almost the opposite so it is not contradictory for supporters to be openly racist. They know some supporters are racist and accept such and supporters will not be discouraged by the racism or they would already be discouraged. The clinton campaign did run on a position of not being racist and accusing trump supporters of racism. For that reason it is contradictory for clinton supporters to be openly racist and openly racist clinton supporters will discourage other democrats from support.
It would be as trump supporters calling clinton supporters as gun nuts to insult them. It is contradictory and insane and does not help win.
@ITPRO -- I'm sorry, you're still not making sense.
Here, let me take a stab on your behalf:
"I, ITPRO, preferred Trump to HRC. Because I don't want to admit my support for Trump inherently makes me an advocate (or at least an apologist) for his racist/xenophobic/sexist views and the racist/xenophobic/sexist views of many of his supporters, I am going to adopt the bizzare and hypocritical stance that the racist/xenophobic/sexist views of Trump and his followers are A-OK becaues they're honest about them, while the Democrats/HRC purporting to NOT being racist/xenophobic/sexist, but failing to live up to that ideal 100% is somehow 'insane.'"
Does that about sum it up?...;-D....
