So, is this the reason why everything seems so whacked out among my co-workers, friends, family and everybody I can't explain?

(1) Reason alone cannot be a motive to the will, but rather is the “slave of the passions” (see Section 3) (2) Moral distinctions are not derived from reason (see Section 4). (3) Moral distinctions are derived from the moral sentiments: feelings of approval (esteem, praise) and disapproval (blame) felt by spectators who contemplate a character trait or action (see Section 7). "Let your moderation be know to all men."  This takes a concerted effort on the part of all Christians.  The road to the cross is different for everyone, some don't understand moderation, it takes reigning in emotions and make them subject to you not the other way around.

    Philippians 4:5-9

    King James Version

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing;(don't be anxious) but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
