Do you watch TV with closed captioning on? What's the reason?

    I do sometimes as hearing is not great but sometimes the music is louder than the talking on some shows and can name that tune but not hear a word they say.

    Can not understand why they play music louder than the person talking. And mostly on the true crime shows.

    My TV is 40+ years old and I don't believe I can get closed captioning even if I wanted to.  I honestly don't need it and I do understand the overly-loud music over dialogue issue.  It also irritates me when the character is speaking a foreign language and the translation at the bottom is either too small to read or they use white letters over a white or yellow background.  DUH!

    It is on permanently.  I do not like to watch movies without captions in English, whether the film is foreign or not.
