I will answer this in a literal sense. If I fall it takes more effort each time...that's why I take care not to fall. This post was edited by Element 99 at November 12, 2016 1:29 AM MST

As I've aged I've become less agile. So it takes me longer  literally and then I need to brace myself on something like a chair to help myself up.  Breaking bones  is also a potentiality so it's much better for me to walk purposefully and not fall in the first place. Figuratively is different. That takes no time at all! Thank you for your reply ele and Happy Saturday! :)   Also when I get up in the morning I walk like a zombie for a minute or too because I stiffen up. Same thing if I've been sitting too long. Takes awhile. Getting old ain't for wimps my friend! :)

Since the last time I fell, I broke both my arms and am still working to recover the use of my left arm, I would say that it's taking me more time.

  • Emotionally, it now takes far less time because I've finally learned how to pick myself up and also how to catch a fall before it goes too far.

Physically, it takes about 30% longer to heal from any accident or injury, so I now take fewer risks. It's just a part of aging that I accept.
