Because they're all willing to kiss his royal behind.  The better question would be why is he nominating so many people who are unqualified for the positions for which he's chosen them?

They are all qualified.  You may disagree with their views but they are all qualified.

Linda McMahon has been tapped for Secretary of the US Department of Education, a department Herr Musk has vowed to eliminate.  McMahon has relatively limited experience working with the American school system. She hasn’t worked full-time in a K-12 school or university. She spent most of her career as an executive at a wrestling entertainment company.  So, if we want to turn schools into wrestling gyms, she's qualified.

They are all qualified for what they are tasked with: Creating chaos, tearing down institutions and weakening the government to prepare it for an authoritarian takeover.

Your answer was better than mine as it encompasses all of them. Thank you.

She has a  degree and a teaching certification  for French.
She has served on the Board of Education for Connecticut (2yrs) and on the Board for a Catholic University for 17 yrs.
Yes, she also has many years of business experience as well.

Oh, well having a certificate to teach French definitely qualifies her to run one of the largest education departments in the world.  Sure it does  Do you even hear yourself?

Being a teacher is not a requirement.  She has served on Boards of Education for 19 yrs.
The Sec of Education is not teaching any class.  They the head of THE Board of Education.

    Some possibilities:

    1. He is not a racist/misogynist, but uses racist/misogynist rhetoric to appeal to his base.
    2. He is a racist/misogynist who has hired a handful of women and minorities to appeal to women, non-whites , non-racists, and non-misogynists who otherwise might be less likely to support him.
    3. He considers the people he appointed to be exceptions to what he believes about women and non-whites in general.

In any case, the percentages you cite are smaller than the percentages of women and non-whites in the population or workforce.

Has there ever been an administration that reflected  the percentages of women/non-whites in the population/workplace?

Of your choices I would agree with the first part of #1.

Probably not, what's your point? I'm just saying he didn't do anything special.

    Personally, I think it's #3.

Considering the revolving door of people in his first administration, let's see how many of them are still in their positions in year four.

Surrounded by establishment last time. So far these picks are showing he has learned.  (A couple I don't think were the best...but much better than before) This post was edited by my2cents at December 3, 2024 8:22 AM MST

The only thing Trump has learned, even more than last time, is how to manipulate racists.

I agree, those on MSNBC are very upset right now. Trump did  it masterfully.   This post was edited by my2cents at December 3, 2024 5:49 AM MST

Trump will be appointing more women to permanent Cabinet level positions than any President in history.  ( just counting this term)
If you count both terms Trumps female appointments will crush Obama's current record of 8 total.

But I guess since his name is Trump, that is nothing special.

I have never counted. But women and minorities have been making slow progress under every administration.

I take offense that you are insinuating that I automatically object to Trump. Please stick to the topic, as you like to tell me.

What I get for going to Wikipedia.   Anyway, Statista is not giving numbers just percentage.  But it did give the date. 2021 for Biden.  I looked it up and Biden has 10 women of 24 Cabinet level positions.
Trump at this point also has 10 women nominated to Cabinet level positions.

It would be nice if Statista gave exact sources but I am not paying them so oh well. This post was edited by my2cents at December 3, 2024 8:19 AM MST
