Why is it you never cite a source for your discussions? This post was edited by my2cents at December 22, 2024 6:39 PM MST

Thank you.  One would think that if someone did the search, it wouldn't be difficult to add it to their discussion.

I could find no information on the actual text of the bill or whether it included 'dragnet surveillance' of the phones of private citizens. The debate over the authorization of surveillance of foreign nationals makes me doubtful, but if Rand Paul is a credible source, then no wonder it failed.

Rand Paul is the source. The post has direct quotes...there something called an internet search...

Any source I give will be dismissed as ring wing...

I found nothing current on this.  The post doesn't show where you found it. So, unless you provide a link, it's worthless to me.

Cite the source and let me be the judge of whether it's credible or not.   This post was edited by Spunky at December 23, 2024 2:38 PM MST

As usual, you've gone off half cocked. The bill was proposed by one Dem Senator, not the administration as a bloc. And it was roundly rejected by the Senate, including most of the Dem ones.

Schumer who is the leader of the Sen right now.  You have pay attention or the uni-party betrays the people.

Yes thankfully, we have Rand Paul to stand up for freedom and who able to convince others he is correct.

That's the Rand Paul who you called a RINO when he opposed Trump on that pointless wall, right?

I do not believe, I have ever referred to Rand Paul as a RINO.  He is a true Libertarian.  There issues he is great on and others he is not so much.  But he has principles and stands by them.
I am not a Libertarian,  so there are things I disagree with Paul about.

When Ryan, Paul, Toomey, McCain, Romney et al opposed him (and I pointed that out), you responded by calling all of them RINOs.
If the Democratic Party actually WAS a "uni-party", those Dems who voted the Bill down wouldn't have. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at December 24, 2024 8:29 AM MST

Paul is not a RINO...the others are. And I am glad they are no longer in Congress.  All of the RINOS you listed will be gone come Jan 20 2025.

Still not sure I called Paul one.

    Uni-party is not just Dems.
