Ever tried to think about other things? Ever try not to think about the elephant in the room? Doesn't the elephant grow larger when you try and soon the entire room is occupied by that elephant? There are mood enhancers/changers of course. Drugs and booze and meds can mitigate just great. Temporarily. But they kinda fry your brain. Bottom line. Are you in control or are your emotions in control? Does your brain causes you to change how you feel or do your emotions cause you to change what you think and how?
