Reverse many things Obama did which he was not authorized to do without Congress approval etc.

Is Obama the ONLY PRESIDENT in history to use the Executive Action card? Do only Dem Presidents do that? Any Republicans ever done that? Thank you for your reply Tom. What things?  Everything? Or did he do some things of which you approved and would like to remain?  I'm serious here. Inquiring minds want to know. I need specifics in order to understand what you mean. When you say "reverse many things" that gives me nothing to hang my hat on. It is empty generalization with no meat.  It is just bare bones. Where's the beef m'dear? Where's the beef?

To be more specific to your question 1. continue investigating the Clinton Foundation by following due process, let the chips fall where they may.
    2. Secure our border by what ever means feasible.
    3. Enforce our immigration policies which have been ignored  for too long to be determined.
    4. Reverse Obamas policies which have been determined to be unjust, unfair, not in the best interest to the people as a whole or not good for the country by our elected officials.

  • I agree with Tom Thumb on this one. Obama bypassed Congress on several things. One thing I DO like is Trump said he is going to replace Obama Care with something more affordable. As it is now, with the rising cost of the premiums, people can't afford it any longer. It has put a hardship on a lot of people. Even Bill Clinton said Obama Care was the craziest thing he's ever seen.

Which specific things Karen? Which "several things"?. You give me no information to digest here. Just useless generalization. Fill in the blanks. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :) PET has already said he will keep several parts of the AHCA. The part where it says an insurance company cannot refuse to insure you for pre-existing conditions and the part that gives parents the right to keep their kids on their insurance policy until the kids are over 24. Do you approve of that or do you want that gone as well?

  •  do approve of that part and I'm glad he's planning to keep that. He said he will lower the cost by bringing more insurance companies into it. The insurance companies are losing money with Obama Care, and pulling out of the program, so I am not sure how that will be fixed. They are losing money because people who really needed the insurance signed up and immediately needed treatment. People are seeing a substantial increase in the premium payments for 2017, and many will no longer be able to afford it.

Hello Karen, and you too Rosie:

If you let people buy fire insurance AFTER their house catches on fire, the insurance industry will go BROKE - OR if you subsidize that loss, the deficit will skyrocket.

Forcing insurance company's to cover people who have pre-existing conditions is the same thing...   Either insurance premiums will continue to skyrocket or the deficit will.

    There ain't no free lunch.

  • I agree, excon. That's why the premiums are getting too expensive and insurance companies are pulling out of Obama Care. With each one that pulls out, the ones left can raise their prices. As it is, Alaska has only one option to choose from. There needs to be an alternative that will work. I have no idea what that would be though. About the only alternative would be socialized medicine, and I don't think America really wants that. I am very blessed to have insurance through work, if not, I wouldn't be able to afford what's being offered.

    Hello again, Karen:

The choices are simple.. (1) We LET people die on the street like we used to.  (2) We SUBSIDIZE their health care, and the JILLIONS of $$'s in salary's for insurance company CEO's.   Or (3), we undertake single payer..

Single payer, of course, will be the MOST effective and LEAST costly of those options.  I'm a capitalist.. I also believe health care is a right.  If the for profit health care industry hadn't gotten SOOO greedy, I'd NEVER call for their demise..  But, they DID, so I am.

Name your poison..  It's gonna cost YOU one way or the other..

  • They have become very greedy. The medical profession has become quite good at falsifying their costs to bring them more money as well. They are both to blame for this healthcare mess. I really don't see a solution in our future, but I'm hoping for a little relief for the general public. I don't think fining someone for not having insurance was right either. If someone can't afford insurance, then they need some kind of help, not the threat of fines. Both the insurance companies and the medical professions need to brought in check. $40 for a 10 cent band-aid is beyond unreasonable. We have dug ourselves in a great big hole with our healthcare affairs.
