Nobel Prize worthy?

Bear with me -- it's the middle of the night for me and I've not slept well at all for a couple of nights. :)
I looked up more articles on this topic.
I was surprised to hear that these students developed this nail polish 11 years ago. I'm assuming it may not be being used to a large degree since your question is the first I've heard about it.

My first thought is this is a helpful and potentially very effective idea for defending one's self. But I also read about some  who disagree with it, believing the emphasis should be devoted to going after those raping, and not putting the responsibility on efforts by potential victims. Though, yes, rapists need to be found but if this nail polish may help someone not get raped, then I think that's great. Empowering people is a good thing in my mind, and the nail polish seems like such a tool. (And being a reader of true crime happenings, some people do drug others' drinks before committing atrocities.)

    I admire the students' work.

I don't know details on the awarding of the Nobel Prize but maybe?I assume they didn't win it if this was relatively a long time ago.

No, I don't believe they did.

This just shows that people will complain about anything and everything.
