I so very much appreciate your answer to me. I am surprised at how much I continue to feel the loss of both Buzzi and Sobule.
When I was 15 years old, I wrote a letter to Ruth Buzzi, sharing with her how much she made me laugh. Had grown up watching "Laugh-In" but I loved her in her other roles in movies and other TV shows, too. Buzzi wrote back to me and included a big photo of herself, with a signed personalised message and autograph on the photo. I still treasure it.
And years before Katy Perry had a hit with "I Kissed a Girl," Sobule had written and sung a totally different song with the same title. That song (the first song I heard from her) and the album on which it appears are superlative to me. I'll include the music video to the song. I very much like its light-hearted spirit. And she's an excellent musician to me. (And, no, it's not the 'same-sex' attraction that drew me to the song - - it's just the song itself, everything about it.)
