Get rid of the VAT tax and we will get rid of the Bluey tax.

Will you please stop comparing apples with oranges? GST (we DON'T HAVE VAT, THAT'S BRITISH) applies to all goods and services, not just American ones or foreign ones generally. Local goods and services are subject to it as well (unprocessed food and some staples are exempt, including some from America if they pass quarantine).

Semantics....VAT and GST are the same things. And if you get rid of yours or exempt US then our tariff may go away.

Apples. And. Oranges. Unless Trump is tariffing US products as well, which he's obviously not. You know it's not close to the same thing and are deliberately obfuscating to defend him. It would be cute if it wasn't so infuriating.
The consumption tax was introduced by the Howard government which was almost conservative by American standards - certainly Reaganomic at the very least. Neoliberalism which doesn't work and never has.

The VAT and other taxes are being taken into account as we evaluate our tariffs.
Just consider it as another step in your VAT tax.

(Almost conservative by American standards....so still a Democrat)

Given his history, Trump will probably remove the tax on foreign made pornos.
