Why are you trying to incite people?  YOU are assuming things without facts.

I actually think this is something we all agree on (CDL drivers should speak and read English) and might wonder why they are getting involved.

The Teacher's Union is defending illegals getting CDLs....that is a fact. They are suing the Trump administration  over the new rules created after the numerous semi truck accidents killing Americans by illegals who could not speak English nor read the road signs.

Why do you think the TEACHER'S UNION is getting involved in this case?

"Fatalities involving large commercial trucks have been on the rise since 2016. That was the year the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issued a memorandum telling safety inspectors not to suspend commercial drivers for failing to communicate well in English."

Guess who was president in 2016?   TRUMP.

Nice try at blaming Trump.   But in 2016 OBAMA was President.

Trump admin just reversed that rule. Hopefully,  they go further and remove the state(s) ability to issue CDLs and jail anyone if fraud is involved.

Why do you think the TEACHERS UNION is getting involved in the fight over CDLs? This post was edited by my2cents at October 26, 2025 6:03 AM MDT

"United States Presidential Election of 2016, American presidential election held on November 8, 2016, in which Republican Donald Trump lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by more than 2.8 million votes but won 30 states and the decisive electoral college with 304 electoral votes to Clinton’s 227 and thus became the 45th president of the United States."

Yes, the election was held on November 8th 2016.  But the Presidential is not sworn in until Jan 20th of the following year. So President Trump did not become President Trump until Jan 20 2017.

So it was the Obama administration who passed the law (rule) which allowing CDLs to be retained by people who cannot speak the language in 2016.

Now, why do you think the Teacher Union is getting involved in the CDLs for people who do not speak or read English?
