      At first, I also thought eighteen was correct when I answered this two days ago, but I caught myself and reasoned it out. There are eight of them total.

    Assuming the sisters are also the man's daughters then he has 8 children. 
    If the sisters are only half sisters or step sisters then he has 6 children.
