I know. Answermug notified me. I guess it keeps track of who your friends are and their birthdays which is kinda nice don'tcha think? I definitely have an afficinity for water-sign folks. So shoot me! I read the horoscope every day and if it's great I believe it and if it isn't I ignore it. I mean what can it hurt? I'm flexible. There are definitely some signs I do not get along with at all. I click with some folks so effortlessly while others get my teeth on edge and I can't wait to get away from them. Is it all in our stars? Who the he ** knows? I don't dwell on it. Thank you for your reply ele! :)

I love 'em honey. My mom was an Aquarius! My sis is a Saggitarius (sp?). My son is a Pisces . Jim and I are both Scorpios. You know what I think though? People give off certain vibes...some are welcoming and draw you in and some drive you away. I think it's those vibes to which I react. I do not like to be around people who are mean or cruel or unkind or insulting. So shoot me! Some folks enjoy the battle. I have never understood why. To me it is waste of time to indulge in fighting or insulting or attacking. Why spend any time at all with anyone who brings out the worst in you? I mean how much sense does that make? I think you're right. And you're right about the not wanting to be around toxic sorts, dragging us down, as you say bringing out the worst in us. I tend now (I hope) to stay clear of the most belligerent or mean ones. I am better than that, you are better than that. They make no difference other than to make themselves feel better by belittling others. They can, to use some British vernacular, shove off.
It's not crap, element99. Just because you personally don't believe it, that doesn't make it crap. You only think that because you couldn't "scientifically" prove it. On the other hand, whether there's a scientific explanation for it or not, I am living proof that it's true. I didn't know a thing about it until I was 19, and once I started reading about it I noticed right away that it described in elaborate detail the way I had always been since I was a little child, while the descriptions of the other signs did not fit me to the proverbial T. That proves that I couldn't have been "trying to make myself fit" as some people put it. Further proof of that is the fact that I know people who (like yourself) don't believe in it yet they still wear their astrological influence on their sleeves for all the world to see. Now why would people do that if they don't believe in it? That only confirms the truth that the conformity is natural and not deliberate.

Scorpios have a bad rep.. apparently they are difficult..can be nasty.. i have never found that in any of the Scorpios I have known.. I do sort of believe in the idea that certain signs have certain characteristics but I also think that it can be quite a wide band within that.
I am Libra you would think that we would be very like Scorpios as they follow straight on from us?
Well m'dear here's the deal with Scorpios. They can soar like an eagle or sting like a scorpion. That is the rap. They can keep secrets better than any other sign. They will take your secret to the grave. Even if/when there is a falling out a Scorpio will NEVER divulge someone's secret. It is a matter of honor. So that's a good thing. Jim is a Scorpio and is definitely an Eagle. My dad was an Eagle too. Me? I have my moments of which I am not proud but they happen less and less as I get older. I find the best thing for me to do is to completely avoid people and situations that bring out the worst in me. Problem Solved! Yes sweetie we do get along very well, thee and me. My ex-daughter-in-law was a Libra whom I loved dearly and still do and my son's two best friends, believe or not, are Libras too. One of them is my "second son"! We have known each other since he was 17 and he is now 51! That is a very long time! ((hugs)) The hugs are just because I feel like it. I hope you don't mind. I 'm a hugger! Signs that "follow straight on" are as different as chalk and cheese - or as different as a scorpion and a pair of scales. Each sign reacts against the one that precedes it and is wary of the one that follows it. If two signs next to each other were similar we'd all be similar in many ways regardless of our star signs and we probably wouldn't be able to tell one from another. Each sign gets on best with the others of the same element. Libra is an Air sign so it gets on best with the other Air signs (Gemini and Aquarius). Air signs also get on reasonably well with Fire signs. On the other hand, Scorpio is a Water sign and gets on best with the other Water signs (Cancer and Pisces). Water signs also get on reasonably well with Earth signs. But a great deal of tolerance is required (on both sides, of course) for an Air sign to get on well with Water or Earth signs, especially when they are next to each other (as are Libra and Scorpio).
As you are probably aware, I consider horoscopes to be the most silly sort of prejudicial nonsense.
So long as it's kept at the "Hey, I'm a Pieces and you're a Scorpio!" level of superficial difference (akin to "Hey, I like vanilla ice cream and you like mint pistachio!")...well, it's harmless.
But the moment anyone starts taking astrology SERIOUSLY, they are simply empirically wrong. No amount of "well, all the [insert astrological sign here]s I know fit stereotype X" Confirmation Bias rationalization justifies making serious inferences based upon astrology. It's nonsense.
Don't fall for those videos, folks. They are a total and utter con. They are based on lies, lies, lies and more lies. Furthermore, not only do I believe in Astrology 100%, I am also rational enough to not take anyone seriously when they can't even spell "Pisces". I pointed that out on another site 5 years ago. It looks to me like some folks never learn.
I don't care whether others believe in Astrology or not, that is entirely up to them, but no amount of SPAM videos posted for the sole intention of converting others to one's own personal form of prejudicial nonsense will ever convince me that I am even slightly wrong, let alone "empirically" wrong. I will have built a million hotels on Neptune before anyone ever succeeds in converting me, especially by using deception as a tool to hopefully convert me. In that case, make that a billion hotels on Neptune plus a few million on Pluto as well.
So, Old School, you answer THIS question, and do not use any form of deception in your answer. What do YOU think is the REAL reason why people born on certain dates are born with certain traits? If it's not horoscopes that makes us the way we are, what does? You must know the secret answer to that question to be as gung-ho about this subject as you are. So come on, Old School. Keep it a secret no longer. Why are people born to be the way they are born to be? The sooner we find out th answer to that question, the sooner we will all know the hidden meaning of life upon which Astrology has been based for thousands of years.
Oh, and please stop spelling names of Zodiac signs wrong. It's not humorous, it's just irritating. I told you that about 5 years ago.
Old School, I have just seen your comment on another discussion. You said "I currently believe there is SOME non-material aspect to the Universe (non-material = phenomona which cannot be explained by our conventional scientific laws), but I'm a bit non-specific on what that aspect might be".
If that's what you really believe, then surely you must think astrology falls into that category. That's logical according to my way of thinking, so why are you so doggone stubborn and opinionated regarding the subject of astrology? I suspect you have a personal reason which for some reason you don't want to reveal on public websites. Even then, there is still no justification for spamming other people's discussions with that Randi and Sagan trash with which you spammed me on another site five years ago. I saw through the lies and deception then and I still won't fall for it if I live for a billion years. Instead of spamming people with that rubbish, why don't you apply that belief I quoted and look into it? Maybe one day you will be able to answer the question I asked you on November 16th: "What do YOU think is the REAL reason why people born on certain dates are born with certain traits?
