One of the things I DIDN'T like about Obama, is that he DIDN'T prosecute the torturers. In fact, he swept it under the rug.

Hello:

What he did, was put torture on the shelf leaving it there for someone to come along and pick right up where the Bush administration left off. 

Guess what? 

Congrats, America, we're BACK in the torture business.  Think I'm being REACTIONARY???  Pete Hoekstra, who is being considered as CIA director, has said he thinks Congress and the administration could work it out. Trump’s newly named national security adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, has been noncommittal about his personal beliefs but said he thinks the president should be able to threaten torture and war crimes as a negotiating stance.

I still find it stunning that we talk about it matter-of-factly as if this were an argument about whether to fund a highway bill rather than the grotesquely sadistic practice it is.

    Unfortunately, I think President Obama has been nothing more than a puppet. I think he, like many others, started with good intentions and found out he isn't as much in charge as he'd like to be. No one I don't think would like to leave the White House as President Obama will with no real success under his belt.

      As far as torture goes, war is war. It is not pretty and we should not be prohibited from using any techniques the opponent is using. The Geneva Convention sets forth rules which are completely disregarded by anyone who really wants to destroy us.

      Torture can be defined in many ways and it doesn't always have to be grotesque. I personally think the only time such a practice should, if ever, be used is when the clock is ticking and we need to get information fast to prevent great loss of life.

     I think there is probably more of the torture that goes on in the world from our governments than we'll ever know about. When we do find out that someone has deliberately used torturous methods for any reason other than a last moment option to "save the world", we probably should put a stop to it immediately. Torture is only going to make them want revenge more if they survive.

      Unfortunately war is not really humane in any aspect but so far, it seems like it is still necessary. I am obviously not a proponent of President Obama, but just like any President, he has his plate full and cannot personally handle everything even if he wasn't being guided by strings.

    We DON'T do certain things, because WE don't do them.  That our enemy's burn people alive isn't a reason why WE should..  I fundamentally DISAGREE with everything you said..

    Look at this WEY. 

    Take a good look.  Should we seek revenge?  Should we take the children of the enemy and torture them?  Because after all LOOK WHAT THESE PEOPLE DID FIRST.

    (by the way, they did nothing, but who's counting?)
