When does the line between "Patriotism" and "Nationalism" blurr?

  • They are similar, but patriotism is a pride in one's nation and support for that nation's decisions; it's more of an emotional affinity for one's nation. Nationalism is a national identity and belief in the greatness of a national (its location, its people, its laws); there are are many forms of nationalism that imply a kind of superiority over other nations--that's when nationalism can become problematic.
