You trust someone because you have had personal experience with him/her or have observed how the person interacts with others. Right?

 You're also aware of a person's reputation. You don't hand your trust over to anyone lock, stock and barrel just because he/she asks for it.  What is it about PET that causes anyone to think he is trustworthy or has integrity?
