irony in it purest form ;-) as soon as you buy a "self " help book . written by someone else , what have you really done ?

Made them a tiny bit wealthier. If you are asking what have you done for you I have no idea sweetie. I think when people buy and read these books they think they are doing something good for themselves. Whether they implement what they learn I don't know. Reading about something in itself isn't enough. Ya gotta change what you're doing that isn't working. Do they and does it? I dunno. I've never bought such a book so I have no experience with it. Thank you for your reply TAW! :)
Ah! That's true. So it is a misnomer then. Instead of "self-help" it should be "I help" books as written by each authrr. He helps. She helps. They help. You don't help you are the beneficiary of the help. There's something about "I help" books that sounds awkward though . Needs something more don'tcha think? All suggestions are welcome! Thank you for clearing that up for me m'dear. I did miss your point! :
Nahhh... That would be true if there was a loser and a winner in the transaction.. Some people believe that the seller is ALWAYS the winner, and the poor schmuck who bought his wares is the loser.. I don't believe ANY of that - not even for a minute..
Look.. If you're going downtown to meet an executive to lay out your future, is Ford a winner and you the loser cause you drove that brand of car?
YOU are in charge of YOUR life. Yes, people WILL benefit from your presence here on earth, and you'll ALL be winners because of it.
It's a bunch of feel good fluff and usually a bunch of "you're a special snowflake and the bestest you, you can be" nonsense. In my opinion anyways. Same thing with those silly life coaches.
