Do you believe in "the right of the people to peaceably assemble"? It's guaranteed in the 1st amendment to the Constitution. Pro/con? Why?

If something were a potential threat to your dinking water would you do anything to stop it or divert it or would you just accept it? The pipeline is planned to go under a river that  the people use as a source of drinking water. How often do oil pipelines break and leak? That would be devastating because it would pollute/poisen the water. All they have to do reroute the pipeline to avoid that possibility. I guess what's stopping the owners is that it will cost more money and/or more time. Where are you on this issue? Why?

    Hi Rosie,

    How could people ever let that Right go?  That is the way of slaves, if we cannot group together to discuss things in a heart-felt, reasonable, rational manner.  Unfortunately that starts with a peaceful beginning.  And it must maintain that atmosphere of respect for one another throughout the process.  That is why a gang of crowds shouting and screaming is never the answer.  But minds gathered together for the purpose of doing the right thing and what is best for all of us, is the only way.  Do we even know how to behave this way any longer?  I am wondering.

    Peace, love and mutual respect are the only way.   We surely have known this for centuries after trying the other method over and over and winding up in the same spot.  We have the Right to Assemble peacefully.  If we continue to abuse this Right, we will lose this right, mark my words.  We are focused on WINNING and FIGHTING and PROVING OURSELVES TO BE WINNERS.    That is nonsense.  We are all brothers and sisters and are all ONE.  It is not THEM vs. US.  We are all US. 

    We have a long way to go, peace in this lifetime will take a lifetime.  It is work and it is patience and most of all it is consciousness of the fact that we do not get to torture other people to ensure our lives are of a better quality.    I think that is called attempting to control slaves.
